Your salon's electrical equipment must be tested regularly

What is PAT testing and why do I need to have it done?

PAT is the abbreviation for Portable Appliance Testing - an electrical device that tests appliances and equipment for electrical safety. There are three stages to PAT testing:

Thieves Threaten Charity's Work

CALLOUS thieves have stolen cash from a charity that helps more than 9,000 poverty stricken families each year.

The theft of more than £2,000 from The County Durham Furniture Help Scheme is now threatening the charity's aims of helping even more families in future.

Safe Fun in the UK

JARM Amusements aim to set the standard for funfair safety in the United Kingdom.

From 1st February they will be subjecting their electrical appliances to 6 monthly Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to ensure absolute safety at their events. Additionally they will be insisting that other operators attending their events will have to comply with the same scheme.
