Seaward Electronic says its entry-level Basic PATSolutions package has been designed for electrical engineers, maintenance staff, caretakers and others with a safety testing responsibility in, for example, schools, colleges, care homes, and the leisure industry.

Basic PATSolutions streamlines the selection of electrical portable appliance testing systems in line with the specific needs of users. The concept offers a choice of test instruments, together with various accessory and software options, as well as training, service and calibration support.

Test instrumentation options available in the Basic PATSolutions package comprise the simple push button-operated Primetest 50 safety checker, or the slightly more advanced Primetest 100 unit.

Both units are described as easy-to-use hand-held instruments that are battery-powered for maximum portability. The Primetest 50 is a basic electrical safety checker, which provides an immediate 'pass/fail' indication at the push of a single button. The Primetest 100 facilitates a broader range of tests for Class 1 and Class 11 appliances, as well as an IEC lead test.
