Portable appliance testing: getting it down PAT

Portable appliance testing (PAT) record-keeping software can help people--from contractors to safety personnel--manage test programmes effectively, says Seaward Electronic Ltd.

It says its new PATGuard Plus version 5.0 is the most advanced results-recording software that allows minor repairs carried out at the time of the test to be recorded directly into the tester. The company adds that the repair will then be included in all printed test records and can be linked to contractor costing codes for automatic recharging to the customer.

According to Seaward Electronic, different reporting formats and a CD Rom for customers are available. It adds that data input is fast, test sequences can be created, and appliance movement can be tracked across different sites. The firm says including additional software with the PATGuard Plus will allow Portable Appliance re-Testing schedules to be sent via e-mail.
